Rejoice in the Lord…Always?

OK…you’ve got to be kidding! How can one possibly rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS?

Well, let’s just consider our ATTITUDE for a moment and think about the word PRAISE. When we praise the Lord by singing or shouting or with our words, our mind is fully engaged in glorifying God. But what about the times when we aren’t actively using our words or song to offer praise?

In every aspect of our lives, whether we realize it or not, we can rejoice in the Lord with an attitude of praise. What does my attitude have to do with praise? EVERYTHING!

Our words, actions, thoughts and attitudes are being made known everyday we live. How we use our words and what we do in differing circumstances will either convey an attitude of praise, indifference or negativity. Remember, our words are eternal and have a lasting effect on not only ourselves but our family members, friends and co-workers. It’s very important to engage our minds and spirits in all that we do and say. We have the opportunity to either bring glory to the Lord with our words and attitudes or to bring attention to our own weaknesses.

God will be glorified! That is an eternal truth. The questions is simply: will I bring glory to my Father with my words, my actions and my attitudes or will I simply speak with no thought of the consequences? Think about it and take a moment to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you…and listen, with an attitude of praise!

Hello world!

Hello world, indeed!  This is my first blog post ever and I’m ready to get started. I hope everyone is having a great day today and that you have been listening. Listening to what or to whom you may be asking. Well, just be quiet a moment and listen. There…did you hear anything? Hopefully, if you are a believer in Christ, your thoughts and words just took a breather and allowed the Spirit of God to begin speaking to you.

Please rest assured that Christ, through his precious Holy Spirit stands ready to speak with you.  It can’t just be a one-way conversation where we inundate Him with our wants and needs. We MUST take time to listen. He wants to speak to us as we navigate this life.

I know this is a simple thought but is does have profound meaning when you simply “be still and know that HE is God!”
